The moment

Blue showed up in the torchlight and everybody's heart rate went up. Diamonds. Had to be. Twenty minutes of tunnel for this exact second.

Then a voice, completely at peace, unbothered, delivering it like the last line of a sermon: that's lapis.

No disappointment in it. No apology. Just a man who has made peace with what the world hands him, naming it out loud for everyone else who hadn't caught up yet.

Why this exists

Because every single person has dug for diamonds and hit lapis, and nobody has ever said it that calmly.

Lapis is not worthless. Lapis is just not what you told everyone you were about to find. There's a whole life in that gap.

This coin is lapis. It is not diamonds. It was never going to be diamonds. It is a blue rock with a good story and a face that has already accepted everything.
